Almnoy Farms

they are now 2 months old and everyone was amazed by how much bigger they've gotten.   Schroeder is 11 lbs 9 oz Linus is 9 lbs 11 oz Franklin is 10 lbs 9 oz Lucy is 9 lbs 5 oz Charlie Brown is 7 lbs 2 oz our surprise babies are thriving!!  man, are they thriving!!

one of the girls laid her 'first' egg Thursday, and then nothing on Friday.  over the weekend we moved them out of the greenhouse and found 3 more eggs.  plus she laid one under the cement mixer. she kept hiding them behind an old bathtub (it's a project for the greenhouse) I'd shoo her out and stick her in a nesting box... today 2 blue eggs!! both young girls are laying!  we thought we were going to have some trouble with our roo -- but so far, he is learning his place. and all 9 chickens are getting very used to each other (given the fact the young girls ventured into the nesting boxes) I caught them all laying in a huddle together in the shade yesterday 💖   and now for a puppy update !!! the biggest puppy is such a porker!! 11 lbs!! the smallest is half that at only 6 lbs 10.5 oz!! blue ---> 5004 grams = 11 lbs 0.5 oz orange --> 4607 grams = 10 lbs 2.5 oz green --> 4210 grams = 9 lbs 4.5 oz pink --> 4011 grams = 8 lbs 13.5 oz yellow --> 3...

this weekend they got some 'new' toys.  and today they got new collars blue man weighs 9# 5-1/2oz. gigantor puppy. he is getting more of a grey undercoat. orange weights 8# 8-1/2oz and is almost as snuggly as green.. he is starting to turn more greyish as well. green weighs 8# 1-1/4oz and is curly solid black. the only solid black. the only curly coat. p!nk weighs 7# 14oz. she has a scruffy schnauzer coat, some of that grey as well. she's all piss & vinegar.  mellow yellow weighs 5# 13-1/2oz and is a little spunky dude. he is NOT mellow. 

I know she was just a chicken.. and I know she is not the first chicken we've lost.. nor will she be the last..   but she was unlike any other chicken I've known.. such personality and 💖 she was hobbling around this morning when I left for work.. when I came home at lunch, she was curled up in her usual hiding spot ("hiding" in the shade) she had already passed sometime during the morning.  I don't know when, and I don't know why.  she had a rough start when she came to the vet.. I tried to give her the best life.  I hope I didn't fail her. 😢💔
