Almnoy Farms

she completed her first dozen   

     we got a new puppy on December 3rd. she had to get used to all of us.. the Dude, and the rest of the chickens.. she is a 5.5 month old standard poodle - her name was Mia and we have decided to name her "Lady Guinevere" - Gwen she is from breeder stock (Karen Sisco's ) but we didn't get her from a breeder. her sire is a Sisco's Distinctive Poodle. Her owner got her at 8weeks old, but she was moving and could not take all her dogs with her. so she put an ad out on Craigslist. we had been looking to get a Standard Poodle after losing our female schnauzer, so it was perfect timing.   she is awesome with Lillie and all the chickens, but is TERRIFIED of CritterBugg so we are working through that. she and Dude get along great, and he has a buddy to play with who can actually keep up with him. Big Momma weighs 4 lbs 8.4 oz Lil Lebowski "Dude" weighs 22 lbs 6.4oz Lady Guinevere "Gwen" weighs 24 lbs 6.4 oz  

Bigg Momma is the friendliest 'house chicken'. she follows us everywhere. and snuggles with Dude.  eventually she will be integrated with the rest of the flock.  she has given us 6 eggs now..  2 eggs on the 1st nothing on the 2nd but 1 on the 3rd 1 on the 4th nothing on the 5th and 1 on the 6th (today.. just a few minutes ago) 😀  

Dr Cosko was very sad as well. she had a good LONG life. I do not want her to suffer through anything.  she's in heaven with Sheila and her JessieCat and Carney will help welcome her too

BUCk of the bawk-bawks is going home, for a trade for a FEMALE of his kind.. Big Momma, 7 months old, purrs like a guinea pig and is a very confident chicken..  we will see how the other girls think of her..  and she is a guaranteed layer.. she had an egg before I took her home - and again a few hours after she was home. so we are officially in the "egg" business now (finally!)
